Trying to remember the name of a group with 4 females?

They were all of different races... I think they have a one hit wonder type thing with a song that went like..... and i never ment to let you go... it was a slow song... i know thats not to go off of but if any one can help that woudl be great.

p.s. this was like back in 1997. THANks

3LW or something like that .. R&B ? The lead singer had long finger nails that curved ... I'm not sure ... sorry
