I've had my period since 7th grade. I've been irregular ever since then. My parents don't want me to see a gynocologist. What should I do? It makes me nervous not having my period at this age.

Go on the pill, it will regulate your periods.

To let us better help you, let us know about how old you are, and why your parents don't want you to go to a doctor.

I've been irregular for most of my life too. It hasn't really been a problem. I've still had 4 children. I have noticed as I've gotten heavier I've become more irregular, and when I eat better it becomes more regular. It really could be a number of things. It would be best to see a doctor. If you're really concerned, talk to your parents again about it and hopefully they'll take you to a doc. If you're over 18, just go on your own.

Why doesn't your parents want you to see a GYN doctor. It is very important for you to see them once a year. So go see one. My period has never been regular either. The only reason a doctor wants to regulate it is because you will become pregnant more easily. So if you don't want to get pregnant, then you don't have to worry about trying to get it regulated. I love not having a period every month. I dread it when it comes. It is really important that you go see a GYN though. You may have cancer and etc... You need to catch it early. Also don't forget about mamograms too. All of these are not fun, but neither is cancer. If your parents dont want you to go see a GYN because of money, go to a health department. They will help.

Um, I've been irregular all my life. It's no big deal. I skip months sometimes too. The best way to regulate it is to go on the pill, but that is not without risks. Why does it matter if your parents don't want you to see a gyno? Aren't you old enough to make that decision on your own? You should be seeing one anyway for regular check ups and to stay healthy.

First of all if you are 18 or older or sexually active, you need to be getting an annual checkup. Secondly, I had problems with irregular periods also. I went to the GYN and I was put on birth control..havent had a problem since

I would say to go to a doctor about it since it sounds preety serious. They may put you on birth controle or do something else for it. Everyones body is different no matter if we all have the same parts or not. Thats why I think seeing a doctor would be the best option.

Why don't your parents want you to see a gyn? All women should see their gyn and she will be able to shed some light on why you're irregular. It's not uncommon to be irregular though. When you are physically active, underweight, or overweight you can be irregular.

You must talk to your parents about it and tell them that you need to talk to a gynecologist who really can answer to you about your problem.
And you don't have to be nervous about it, some girls have them really late, I did.
Some time it's just because our body doesn't make enough female hormones, or too much sport, too much stress could be the source of your problem.
You can go to the gynecologist with your mother if you want to be reassured !

Alesse 28 is a very common and generally bodily accepted form of the birth control pill. I have been on it for forever, and love it.

Listen to your parents and see a gynecologist - there are some things doctors are good for, and this sounds like one of them.
