it boot on the diskette, but i cannot access my hdisk and cd-rom. what i shall i do?

Check the IDE cable. Also check the jumpers on the 2 devices. Make sure one says master and the other slave or better yet, just set them to cable select. Hope this helps.

1. What system do you own?
2. What operating system are you using?
Are you referring to a startup disk that you made?
If so, Goto to question 2 this will help.
You might wanna boot up into the bios settings and verify your first boot device under start up options.

Please check your floppy drive is any disc inside and also check cd rom. If no one there, read above answers and go to bios setup. Verify boot sequence or 1st boot, 2nd boot list and select 1st bootable is IDE-0 or HDD, if your bios have boot squence select like this c,floppy,other. I hope for my answer!

check the connection line, there should be 2 hdd lines coming from a source line. the black one is master and silver as slave. put it on master
