How do you know that she isn't just looking for a good father for her child? It seems selfish but I would like to be a husband and a father instead of just being someone who's pegged as a "good father"

Many men would love to be pegged as a "good father".
I've been married 12 years now, but had divorced twice while young. I once asked my husband how he knew I wasn't the kind to just leave a marriage easily? He said if he had been through that twice, he would want to be damn sure if he ever did it again that it was going to work.
If she hasn't given you reason to think otherwise, and you love her, give her the benefit of the doubt. Your loved ones deserve that much.

Any mother would like a good father for ther children. Who would like a BAD father for their children, I mean, hello?
A woman that has children is very careful who she picks for her mate as she already know what she doesn't want. A woman with kids doesn't have the priviledge to make another mistake and I'm sure that she agreed to marry you after careful consideration, as she is not alone, she has the little one to look after.
Trust me, being in love is wonderful and marrying is a a scarry step to make, and if she is marrying for a second time and putting her stabiity as sake because of you, is because she sure loves you enough to get amrried again and get her precious baby to be a family with you.
Don't worry, she loves you.

this is quite a dumb question but has a good meaning
i don't intend that my answer have any meaning for you
but
a girl who is already a mom will love you because of her and not her child
this girl would most likely leave you if there is any problems due to her child
her kid will be first, second, and third on her list

The same way that you know someone who doesn't have kids and might be looking for someone to take care of them, you have to have faith and trust. If they are in it for something other then love time will tell you

try to dicipline her when her mother is in the room, and i am not talking about , ( time out).. watch her reaction. if she agrees with the punishment to fit the crime,, then you know she is in love with you.. if she comes after you like tyson / holyfield ,, get the hell out of dodge. but get in one last bang before you go

why would you even question her love for you...that shows that you don't have faith in your own feelings...you obveosly care enough to propose and you want to be a daddy.....so why are you asking if you truly love this girl......no faith nofaith...
