Is Las Vegas a good spot for a family vacation with teens?

I have herd it was but also that it was not. What do you think or know about this?

Vegas is a great vacation for anybody. It didn't used to be, but it's turned into a fun place for all ages.

There are so many things to see and do for kids & teens. Circus Circus has circus shows and a midway arcade. Excalibur, NYNY and some others have arcades. There's even a giant arcade of it's own across the strip from NYNY, which I believe is called Gameworks.

There's also the Fashion Show Mall and the Forum Shops at Caesars for plenty of shopping.

Many of the resorts have incredible water parks, but I believe Mandalay Bay's has been deemed the best.

And there's tons of shows, free or not, that are suitable for all ages. The pirate show at Treasure Island, the volcano, white tigers and dolphins at the Mirage, the water fountains at Bellagio. There's gondola rides at Venetian. And extreme thrill rides galore! Such as roller coasters at Circus Circus, NYNY and the Stratosphere.

You'll find so much to do, you won't be able to fit it all in!

Yes, Las Vegas is a good place for a family with teens. I lived there for 4 years. The Circus Circus is cool and down the Strip toward downtown on the right side is a water theme park.
Most of the larger Hotels have something for the teens.
If they have the nerve accross the street from Circus Circus they have "Bungie Jumping".

P.S. If you should check out Circus Curcis ask for the prices on the courts, not in the main Hotel... They are cheaper $$$

I will say it is for teens!! My nephews had wonderful time at Vegas everytime we visit and we are going to Vegas agian the end of this month. We love to stay at Mandalay Bay because they have a very nice wave pool and the lazy river that teens can hang-out at the pool area all day and they never get tire of the pool!!! They also love MGM Grand's Pool as well. Lots of Free shows around the Vegas Hotels, you just have to look in to the website and find out what is going on or what can the hotels offer you. Vegas also have a big shopping center call "Fasion Mall" and my nephews love to hang-out at mall too.
You can walk around the strip and you will see lots of stuff that Vegas can offer. And yeah, the buffet they love too.

Las Vegas is good adult entertainment. and while they offer distractions for the teens in your family, wouldn't it be better to do things together? Reno, Nevada has Virginia City, Lake Tahoe, and the Black Rock Desert all within an Hours drive and adult gaming to equal Lost wages. Do you know that there are more churches in that town than Casinos? In the catholic churches, so many people put chips into the offering plates that there is an organization in town who counts them and cashes them in. There called Chip monks...

I think that it depends on how old you are. If you parents are going to go in casinos than it isn't because your under age. There are some good places to go like I think it's called Treasure Island. It's good for people of all ages. How old are you? If you're 17 and older it is fun but 16 and under it may get a little boring. It is fun during the day though. I would say no. I Love Vegas, but to me it is a party town. I would not contemplate taking my kids to Vegas. Do you plan on having time to yourselves? Can your teens be trusted alone? Would you want them alone in Vegas?

However, if you go, there are many free shows and attractions. Bellagio conservatory, fountains at Bellagio, Forum shops fountain shows at Caesars, masquerade show at Rio, Mirage Volcano, White tigers at the Mirage, Sirens at TI, Wynn conservatory, and Wynn lake of dreams

Yeah, they have tons of shopping malls that would be fun for them if they are girls, and the guys would like the coasters and rides, just stay close at night, also in the day they have little cards and newspapers with hookers on them, that is the bad thing.

No. It's a city really not meant for those under 21. Think about it: the main attractions are gambling and partying - do you REALLY want impressionable teenagers exposed to such excess?

My parents used to take us there when we were kids and we always had a blast! Game works was always my fav place to go.... We always stayed in laughlin, right on the river and rent jet skis and fun stuff like that, its not too far from vegas.
