how do you stop your nails from chipping,breaking,etc after they are 1/2 an inch long??

try to buy this nail polish that is a nail strenghtner. It help my nails become strong. I work with my hands alot so my nails used to chip. You can go to any store and look for nail strengthner.

there are a couple of ways to stop this...the 1st is rather gross
1st ans: soak your nails in motor oil three times a week this will cause them to become thick and hard after a period of a month or so but it's not very sanitary or safe.
2nd ans: go to the nail shop and get tips put on...they'll strengthen the nail at the edges which is probably what is causing them to break in the first place
3rd ans: buy clear acrylic from nail shop and apply yourself....the acrylic is a hardener and will do the same as the tips but it's less expensive...the only problem is that you have to do it yourself

Hi there,
You can do much if your nails are very delicate by nature. However, there are some good nail strengthening products in the market. It is important that you start a sincere regimen to file and clean your nails. Also maintain a steady length of your nails and dont overgrow them. Occasionally try to massage your nails and the surrounding skin with some vitamin E oil. Good luck!:)

I use Sally Hansen's diamond strength formula. I put it on before any nail color and follow up with a clear coat afterwards. I swear I see results within days of using it.

sally hansons "hard as nails" I use to get my nails done and when i stopped they were haggered! But i started using sally hanson hard as nails and havent had a chip, tear, or a snag yet!
Use it every other day... remove old polish as it builds up, if you dont it will start to become lumpy and yellow. :o) hope it works! let me know!

Use horse hoof lotion on your nails and cuticals!! It really works to harden and strengthen your nails,, and they cell it at Walmart super stores and at sally maes!!! You can ask those nail places about it too!! Happy nail growing, bye

Soak them in warm water or warm olive oil like the lady with the worlds longest fingernail does.

use a tiny disposable brush, or cotton bud to even up and apply- Super Glue. The 5 second action elephant glue, or epoxy glue. use the clear type one. voila, you can use it to break sidewalks, bank vaults, no problem. and even Catwoman will bow down and worship you...

do not wash dishes and stuff without gloves and go to a nail saloon and get them wrapped like i do.

clip them or get fake ones. Fiber glass ones look good. So do acrylic.
