Paul McKenna is not the best at giving Hypnosis a good name.

Stage shows are totally different from Hypnotherapy which is what I do for a living.

First rule of thumb - Hypnosis is NOT mind control, you cannot be made to do anything against your will. Despite what you see on stage every participant knows what they are doing! A trance is not a zombie like state where you lose ocntrol. You never lose control, it is virtually identical to a Yoga Mediative state. You always are aware of what you are doing at all times.

The suggestion can be made to someone in a trance (it is not a sleep state, you are fully awake, in control just really relaxed), and the subjects subconscious mind decides whether it is appropriate or not. The fact that people volunteer to go on stage have acepted that they will be making a prat of themselves and willing do these things whether they are in a trance or not! Thats right, half the people are just acting.

Paul McKenna is an entertainer first than hypnotist second. Just because he is famous, doesn't necessarily make him the best.

I beleive in Hypnosis with a passion, I have helped over 600 people successfully using hypnosis (and counting), and it is harmless and not in anayway what the media portrays it to be.

Paul Mckenna does what he does for enoourmous profit and fame. I have picked holes in his technique numerous times, so I wouldn;t base your judgement on his clicking fingers!

Hypnosis will only work on you if you allow it to. You cannot be made to go into a trance or do anything you wouldn;t normally do. If you were on stage, and you'd volunteered, you;d probably do it anyway coz you mates are in the crowd.

P McK is not anywhere near the ethical person he purports to be. Don;t belive the hype.

I do not believe in his stage hypnosis's but his serious hypnosis has a proven track record and he is one of the best!

His stage shows may be real but if it is then he must have chosen some very susceptible people to do it who must be aware of whats going on but chose to ignore it.

Yes.
Paul McKenna does Hypnotherapy/Hypnosis. The evolution of Anton Mesmer's ideas and practices of "animal magnetism" led James Braid (1795-1860) to develop hypnosis in 1842.

For over 30 years I have used hypnotherapy regularly for myself and my family for relaxing and recieving positive affirmations for self improvement. I have also taken a hypnotherapy course myself. And witnessed so called "past life regression" using the technique. It's intriguing.

Hypnosis or deep relaxation techniques are great to use on children to get them to sleep. It is said the North American Indians used it on their babies to keep them silent in hiding when they were being attacked by their enemies.

Are you refering to a hypnotist? I believe in them. When I was a reporter for my community newspaper, I covered the show of a hypnotist who alkso works for the police to help people remember details of crime. My cousin was hypnotised on stage by him and she did the craziest things and she was totally in-tuned with the messages put in her head. He told her that she would remember nothing until she went home and used the washroom. And it worked. She called me afterwards to ask me a million questions. Just like clockwork and way too funny.

I think he is tapping into what people want to really do, but for some reason they are not giving themselves permission to do (because the task, such as weight loss) seems so difficult...he is an authority to these people, and his giving permission to them to lose weight or whatever is the motivation they need to succeed...so I think he helps some people, but he has no special powers, just good leadership skills.

He's not the only person to have practised hypnosis. Look it up - it's a fact. It doesn't work on everyone, I hear, but it does work.

I don't know this man, but in certified hypnotism I do believe and have seen it work therapeutically in behavioral modification....that being said, if this man is using it to make people do what he wants them to do, he should be shut down.
