No matter how extravagant the gift. Also, if you get a card do you get kinda bummed if no message is written in the card, just signed?

I love getting cards. I think they are more personal than the gift itself. Yes, if there is just a signature I am instantly bummed. A written message is essential, makes me feel special and thought of.

I don't care if a gift comes with a card or a card comes with a gift as long as either of them is thoughtful rather than an empty gesture. Being thought of makes people feel special, and since both of those will show thoughtfulness, I don't need some followed etiquette of including one with the other. I'm not terribly picky, and I find most gestures that show I'm being thought of to be a wonderful perk to my day.

If I just got a signed card, I'd be happy that the people thought of me. Besides, as much as cards cost now, they'd almost count as another gift!

Why I'm just happy that my friend stopped by and any of the other stuff can be overlooked. Hey they thought enough to stop and to them the words in the meant something or the gift but the gift of their time is the greater gift.
