No, I think we would all adjust. Cell phones have only been a big thing for the past decade or so. Over ten years ago, we only used pay phones and land lines. Tons of businesspeople managed to become and remain successful without having a cell phone. The only genuine benefit, I believe, is that it's great to have around when you have an emergency (eg, like 9/11).

I ditched my cel after using one for over 10 years. It was more of an adjustment for everyone else but myself. I see that most of the communication was just waisted transfer of useless information, at the cost of being interrupted in the middle of more important but less urgent matters like being a father.

Meh, fashion would move on to kill some other new technology. The Mobile Telephone would become another debunkt accessory
