Having children is a choice. We make choices everyday. Some are good and then there not.

No one should pressure you into something you don't wish to do.

I have two beautiful daughters that God gave me and they are also my best friends. There is a closness between your children and you that no one can describe. I wanted children. But that was my choice.

Thank you for your question and you have a great day.

I understand where you are coming from. I do not have children and I have not had the maternal calling for one either. I am 28. I feel like I am suppose to have children and that sometimes weighs on me. The only people that says "when are you going to have kids" are my in-laws because they want grandchildren and friends because they are just curious I guess. Or they want you to be unhappy and have no life like they do. Parenting is a big responsibility. I want to do it right if I am going to do it. I don't want to have a lot of kids and let them run wild or whatever. It seems that is what most parents do. They didn't get all their living in before they had kids. So there out there acting like a teenager and there kids are not under control. I feel that your life is over when you bring a child into this world. You are there for that child only. No more partying, no more doing stupid things, and etc... You will just set a bad example for your kids.

I wanted kids, I have a child, I want more children. The benefit is experiencing the feeling of taking part in creating a human being, feeling total love for this being and knowing that this child will always be a part of you. I would never pressure anyone to have kids, only people that are physically, emotionally and financially ready should have children.

having children I think is a purely individual choice. Some want them, some don't, and I really don't think if you don't want them that people should pressure you. It's your life! Why did I want kids? I don't know. I really don't. Being a mommy is just something I've always wanted to do and I love being one. But then again, I have a very strong motherly instinct and relationships are what I love the most, the most important things in my life.

A lot is 2 words! A. people want to make mini versions of themselves. I have kids, but if you are a childless, I wouldn't pressure you to do it. B. Raising children is not for everyone, so you should do what is right for you and ignore those who want you to be sheeple with them. C. The benefit of having kids is the unconditional love.

Different reasons for different people... Some people just like having them, period. Some do it simply because everyone else does. For others, it's what "family" is about. Practical reasons/benefits - first and foremost, to have someone around when you're old; those who have seen older people go through their decline will appreciate how important family is during this time. Re. pressure - it's not unique to the kids' issue. When people have something and like it, they try and get everyone around them to like it, too. Kids, religion, sweets, you name it. "No, really, try it, it's good!" Happens all the time. My guess is also that you're young, and "older and wiser" people are just trying to share their knowledge and wisdom with you.

You'll wisen up.

To pass on their genes and wealth of whatever amount. To care for them in their old age. To share love. You can't possibly understand what being a parents means if you haven't experienced it yourself. If you don't want kids, don't feel pressured by others.

People have kids just to show they had them. Like its a cool think. Not ask if they support them and show them the right way or decent way to live. Yeah right. Even I am guilty of that. I cursed and called my son names but I always justify it with I love him and he knows it. Why we keep asking other people that stupid question who knows. You know I did that this weekend to a co-worker and her spouse. God for give me. I guess its just a retarded curios question.

Please - take my advice. If you don't want kids, don't give in. I didn't and I went out with a woman for 2 years. She wanted to get married and have kids and get into that trap. So we broke up. Best thing I ever did.

because if somebody didnt say that to your parents, you wouldnt be asking this dumb question. Now if you had that surgery done when you cant have kids anymore, well then you must already have kids and dont want anymore.
