That used to happen to me, until I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Try checking for that...
Also, one of my girlfriends had a similar problem, and she was diagnosed with PCOS. Sorry, I don't really know what that is, but you might want to ask a doctor if this could be it.
For the past five years I have taken Depo-Provera, and now I no longer get my period... This has been extremely convenient. Best of Luck, hope everything turns out ok for you...

I do not know what to tell you that is a very long time to have it. I feel bad for you. Maybe you should try going to a different doctor to get their opinion. What might be wrong with you is that you might have a cyst on your ovary and that is why they last so long. Do not listen to your doctor there is something wrong with you if they last that long.
Hop you find a good doctor that will be able to help you with your problems.
Good Luck!!!

Call a nurse at a local hospital. Tell her what has been going on. She may be able to help you. If you have been bleeding heavy for that long, something needs to happen. Have you had tests for cysts and fibroids?

I am wondering what kind of doctors you are going to. Have you tried seeing a Naturopath? I mean if the techno geek docs can't help you, then maybe a naturopath can.

You need to go to a gynecologist (a doctor who specializes in diseases of the female organs). If you get the "I don't know what's wrong with you" answer, ask for a referral to someone who does.

many things are not mentioned in your history, simplest and best way is to take oral contraceptive pills, before starting that you can go for hormonal assay, fsh, LH, estrogen, progesteron and thyroid hormon. once u start oc pills hormons can not be checked.
if you are married and u have kid and don't want to have another in near future than go for IUD marina, it releases progestron daily in small amt. so withrowal bleeding is less.
try to rule out infection.
consult proper gynaecologist
try to rule out bleeding disorder, hepatitis

Have you had a DNC done. A friend of mine was going thru the same problem. You need to change doctors for one thing. you need to see a OBGYN you would get more done thru them.
