My husband & I believe 'Take Another Little PIece of my Heart' was previously recorded prior to Janis Joplin. Is this correct and if so, by whom?

Bert Berns/Jerry Ragavoy wrote it / It was recorded by Erma Franklin in 1967/ joplin did it in 1968

Well, technically, it was Big Brother and the Holding Company who were fronted by Janis Joplin. They recorded it originally.

Piece Of My Heart...Janis Joplin. It was her signature song, even tho most people thought it was Bobby MaGee.
