which book is your favorite and why? i just started reading them and right now i'm at The Horse and His Boy, the 3rd book, and I'm hooked. I'd love to hear some opinions, and does anyone know if C.S. Lewis wrote any other books, besides the seven in the Narnia series?

I have loved C.S. Lewis since I was a child. My favorite Narnia books are The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe and The Last Battle. But I read the other ones too of course. Magician's Nephew is great too. I like the original order though...not this new reordering...

He also wrote a trilogy of science fiction novels. Perelandra, Out of The Silent Planet, and That Hideous Strength.

here is a site listing all his fiction books:

My favorite is definitely "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader." But reading the whole series straight through is great, too! Also, back in the day, the series started with "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," not "The Magician's Nephew", that was like 4th or 5th...

i always liked the magician's nephew the best. i think it's the most entertaining of all the books. the story is so much more interesting. i probably like the horse and his boy the least. i'm not sure why but it was incredibly slow and boring to me.
lewis wrote many other books. just search c.s. lewis at barnes and noble or some other online book retailer.

We are also on the 3rd book, and so far I have liked 'The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe' the best :O)

I also like these other books by C.S. Lewis, although they are theology instead of fantasy:
_The Screwtape Letters_
_Mere Christianity_

My personal favourite is The Magician's Nephew, but I really don't think anyone else likes that one.

I do know that C.S. Lewis wrote poetry as well as the Chronicles, but I don't know about other novels.

The Last Battle--hands down. It is probably the clearest metaphor with the possible exception of the first novel. A retelling of the book of Revelations. The Last Battle--Armaggedon...I think that is where I first realized that ALL of the books were filled with Christian metaphor rather than just the Christ reference with Aslan.

I also really liked The Screwtape Letters.

My personal favorite is the first one, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. It's something you can enjoy whether or not you pay attention to the religious metaphors.

The last one.
I like the part where they all go to the bigger and better narnia and see almost everyone including mister tummnus and the first king and queen of narnia. after that they find out that everyone who has been to narnia died in england. And they enjoy afterlife in the bigger better narnia.
