Okay, this works every time for me...soak a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol. Turn your head to the side so that the effected ear is facing the ceiling. Let a few drops of the alcohol fall into your ear and drip down into the ear canal. The swimmers ear will immediately go away.

I have swimmers ear as well, ive had it atleast 20 times before.

Just so you know. rubbing alcohol does cure swimmers ear. It will however get the water out if the water is still in your ear. useing rubbing alcohol after the water is out of your ear could damage your inner ear.

Well. im only 15 so i dont actually buy my own treatments, and cant find my swimmers ear meds right now, so i dont know what theyr called. But if you go to a pharmacy and ask for drops to treat swimmers ear, they will know what to give you. just make sure theyr not drops to get water out of your ear and they are actually a treatment bottle.

one of the key elements of the treatment of swimmer's ear is the avoidance of water. That's because the bacteria that cause swimmer's ear love a warm, moist environment. Also, the ear canal is usually a bit acidic, thanks to earwax. This acidity discourages bacterial overgrowth. Water has a neutral pH (it is neither basic nor acid), so it tends to decrease the acidity of the ear canals. Water thus interferes with the ear canal's natural resistance to infection. Incidentally, overaggressive removal of earwax does the same thing!

You need to see an ear, nose and throat doctor (ENT), since most primary-care doctors have limited ability to diagnose and treat these conditions. An ENT can examine your ear under an operating microscope. (Most ENTs have this useful instrument.) While you are under the microscope, the ENT can suction pus and debris from yoyr ear canal and can apply topical medication to the infected/inflamed skin. This approach is far more effective than a prescription for eardrops and the advice to "keep your ears dry."

good luck!

Dont go sticking alcohol into your ear without a doctors order, you dont know how much to put in, there is an over the counter product called Swim Ear, there are also other names for the ear drop, go to a store and look for something like that or ask a pharmacist if in a store that has a pharmacy. It is not expensive by any means.

There are over the counter drops you can use, use ear plugs which really help if your prone to swimmers ear, and after swimming dry the ear off and use a hairdyer on the lower setting..hold it about 10 inches away from your ear...dont burn yourself!! and the air will help dry out the ear .
