That would be strange. There'd be all these towers covered with bright lights that could shine through walls.

Depends, if your aerial was mounted on the roof then the stronger signal could cause a glare effect, possibly adjustable by using the contrast switch. If the aerial was mounted on your head then I dont think blinding would be a problem, although you may have to move around a little to get a clearer picture.
