I have a good guy friend. One day he called us all up and said come play poker. In our game we say "guy's i am gonna throw in a wildcard" and then make u and random rule. He went hey "i am gonna throw in a wildcared, i am gay" bit of a shock but so what do it like that! By the way I personally love gay people. You guys are the most creative and in touch people i know. Feel free to e-mail me if you need any more advice as i have a gay aunt and uncle!

I've been 'out' for about a year. Telling the first person is always the hardest... but it gets easier. After 8 years, I can't imagine what you're waiting for. Just go over with your boyfriend and tell them.
I've had nothing but positive responses.

Well. It is acceptable to ask her to be the go-between, and it would be a lot less stressful, but in the long run, it might create a strain in the friendship between you and your male friend if you don't tell him yourself. It might seem like you don't trust him to support him if you ask for a go-between.
hope that helps! good luck!

Hi there! I agree with devoleB and sille leakim on this one. Tell both of them together, or tell them each separately, but absolutely do tell them yourself. I am sure the support you will get from them will be a VERY pleasant surprise. Courage!

Telling your friends are best left up to someone who knows them well enough to judge how they will take the news. Good Luck!@

telling someone yourself is ALWAYS a harder but more fulfilling decision...once you tell them...weight is lifted off your shoulders...no matter what their reaction is...and...if this friend has been your friend for THAT long...they might already have a clue....even 8 years of friendship might give it away...so 20 years...i think he might know...hope all goes well for you

If they have been good Friends as you say for that long, I bet they already have a pretty good idea.

I guess if they are married, I would consider telling them together.

If you feel like you can do it, tell him yourself. It's always better coming from you.
