why do most young girls want to look older and try to act older?

It's crazy...little kids like 15 years old wearing tons of make-up and dressing all slutty...that's not attractive.

They don't know better. Times are a'changing. I looked like a cow when I was 15. ;D Don't act like you don't like looking at these lil girls make you feel perverted. Maybe that's why they are doing it. Sex is in. I can already see the earth being completely overpopulated with babies having babies.

OK, here's your answer.

Supposedly, girls mature faster than boys- and theres some evidence to support this with girls showing brests at a younger and younger age. Some people believe this is caused due to milk harmones put into cows to increase the milk production- then the kids drink the milk and get the harmones to make brests this way.

A 13 year old girl wants to date an older guy- lets say whos 17- because it makes her appear mature. The 17 year old boy will date a 13 year old because she's easily influenced. Same thing 15 to 19, and 17 to 21- and the older they get the more exposure to alcohol and drugs they acquire.

Historically this hasn't been a big problem- if you look at the peoples ages, most of history has been written and done by teenagers!

This arbritrary rule of "18/21 you're an adult and younger you're a child" is legal, not biological in nature.

If they wanted to do it psychologically, they would RAISE the age of adulthood to about 25- its at this age that the personality finally "freezes" until death. The person at 25, is the same at 50 and the same at 75. Between the ages of 18 and 25ish the personaltiy will STILL change about onces per year.

I can't speak for all teens, but I can speak for myself. When I was 15 I wanted to look older so I could fit in with the adults instead of being cast aside and being told that children should be seen and not heard. Then again, I never wore a lot makeup nor did I ever wear anything less than properly fitting jeans and a t-shirt sans the slut.

Because they have yet to meet (and hopefully never will) a weird old pervert who likes little girls. I married one of those when I was 17 (he was 12 years older than I was and we grew up in the same neighborhood) he knew me when I was a little girl!


Needless to say, It didn't last and it was no fun at all finding out the hard way what a perv is!

I didn't have the maturity or understanding then, of why that was wrong of him or how even. Things makes sense to children that shouldn't these days because of crap like MTV and frigging Brittney Spears who goes out into life as a child/prostitute claiming to be virginal but looking like a part time bunny ranch worker who then proceeds to lose her virginity by cheating on her long time boyfriend. She then proceeds to claim to "Not be a role model to the people she sings to." Well maybe that wasn't her intention but the record company sure used her for their marketing hooker! Irresponsibility is often synonymous with youth... That's what PARENTING is for!

Most young people want to look older because this is what they see in the media today. If you seriously think about it, sit down watch Nickelodeon, when you see the commericals you'd really be suprized....girls are dressing just like how you are talking...brats dolls with real diamond jewlery, girls in belly shirts and mini-skirts with makeup on. Then parents sit thier kids in front of this crap all day and that shows our young girls that this is how we want them to look. if you pay attention to some of the girls you go to school with that dont dress or act like you are asking about, i guarentee you that you will find a family that takes time to communicate with thier daughters....these are the girls that yound men should be going after, not the pagent queens.

Have you seen their role models? hello Brittany Spears ... etc... Sometimes kids will dress older and act older as a result of various abuses. there is always a reason they act out. A person needs to think of the possible reasons rather than to react to the appearance. If there is no better reason they dress that way because they see girls on T.V. looking provocative and they want to be like them.

my sister is 12 and she is 5 foot 10 and looks like she is at least 15! she doesnt fit in with her friends who are all around 5 foot so she has to try to fit in with older girls and boys. If she still wore what the girls in her year all wore she would wear pink tops with wiinie the pooh and piglet on and have little friendship bracelets. It would look seroiusly weird on a girl that looks at least 15!!! I don't say I like what she wears sometimes but if she didnt look older than she is she wouldn't be my sister!!

hey, i'm 15. i don't like to consider myself a little kid, but i don't wear tons of make up (only light natural tones for me and/or coverup on certain days) or dress all slutty. however, i know plenty of my peers that do. it makes me wonder how long it'll be before they end up pregnant or filing for statutory rape.

i can look older without everything; i'd prefer to dress professionally, and act the part as well.

Probably because their friends are dressing or acting that way? Maybe to attract attention, (it probably won't be the good kind of attention), though. I've seen what you are talking about. And it was scary and sad to see. Alot of it has to do with the current style too.
with the pants and shirts being cut too short.
