Sneakers clean up really well in the washer. Half fill your washing machine with dirty laundry (not delicates), drop your sneakers inside a pillow case and tie using a rubber band (do laces separate) and then put them in the washer. Put washer on full wash and put in half the amt. of detergent you usually use for a full wash. They come out like new!

The best way to clean new sneakers. If they are brand new baby wipes are your best bet, If they are old what you need to get is a sponge with diswashing liquid and just softly scrub them. You wont damage the leather that way.

For the rubber soles and edges, use Ajax Cleanser and a toothbrush. It works a bit better if you use just enough water to make a paste and let the past sit on the rubber for a while before really scrubbing it. Do NOT use Ajax on any leather or cloth parts.

My husband wears Nike's white Air Force One's and I use a toothbrush to scrub the dirt off and use a solution of liquid laundry detergent , clorox oxi stain remover and warm water mixed together . After scrubbing the shoes w/toothbrush and solution I then rinse the remaining dirt and soap suds off w/warm water. The shoes are always brite white afterwards. No need to throw them in the washing machine and I always let them air dry.

Depending on the type of material:
You can wash them in the washing machine (gentle cycle)
You can put them in the dishwasher (odd but gentle enough)
You can use a toothbrush (old) and hand scrub them that way.
