the fact they were expired. But I am pretty sure they didn't break. I freaked though and took my next pill like 6 the following morning instead of waiting till the evening like I usually do. And then have continued to take them in the morning. I only have 2 pills left of this pack, and as of this morning have still tested negative on a hpt. I am making myself sick with the thought I might be pregnant again as I already have a 3 1/2 year old son, and am a single mom. Did I test too soon, or is pretty likely that the test I took today ( with first morning urine ) was accurately negative? Any advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance!

I should clarify...My period started 7/11, I took my first pill the evening of 7/14, and had sex the early morning hours of 7/15, and got a negative HPT this morning 8/1, with first morning urine.....What are chances that it was accurate?

Take a deep breath. It is so normal to worry and usually the anxiety makes everything worse. Don't be surprised if your period is goofy because of the intense stress and the fact that you took your pills slightly off schedule.

It is unlikely you are pregnant. You took your pills, you used a condom as backup and you've taken a pregnancy test that is negative.

yes - it is possible to get pregnant on the pill. Yes it is possible to get pregnant when using an expired condom and yes it is possible for a pregnancy test to be negative when you are really pregnant. But the chances for all of these things to happen are like 1% each and the chances of all these things happening at the same time are next to nothing.

I am not a doctor so it's also possible I'm wrong - but given all these circumstances I think you can relax.

In order for "the pill" to work accurately, you should stick to taking them at the same time every day. Used together condoms and spermicide should knock down your chances of pregnancy tenfold. Additionally, ask your self when was your last period. Usually a woman's cycle runs approximately 28 days with her fertile period being around three days somewhat in the middle of that time frame. Although not a guarantee, it should give you some idea. I would think that you are too early in taking the pregnancy test. You should wait until after you are due to take the next test, otherwise contact your doctor/clinic and set up an appointment.

You can only become pregnant during your peak fertile time / ovulation. Most women, who have a 28 day cycle will ovulate on day 14 of their cycle.
If you are on the pill and taking it properly (this wasn't the first month you began taking them) you shouldn't have a problem, also considering you used condoms, although they were expired...everything should be fine.
Do remember HCG hormone is not always readable by a home pregnancy test, until your body is producing over 50-100 miu. In early pregnancy-the week your period should be do but you discover you are late..your body is normally producing only 20 -Which is not detectable by most pregnancy tests. Only very sensitive tests will detect at this stage.
Good luck!! Hang in there! Remember stress can delay your period!!

birth control takes a few days to fully get out of your system, just as it does to start working. takes like a week to kick in fully and leave fully. on your period it doesnt count. so it doesnt really matter unless you actually missed a day with your pills, but even then it only slightly raises the risk or pregnancy. chances are the test was accurate.

The chance that you are pregnant based on this information is so incredibly small I would not worry about it. Remember, condoms are still effective way after they expire, but as a company they only want to guarantee them for a certain amount of time. It's like buying a Honda, it has a 36,000 mile warranty on it, but that doesn't mean it falls apart after 37,000 miles.

As long as you were taking the pills from the previous pack on time and everyday you have less than a 1% chance of getting pregnant.

chances are you are okay - you probably did not ovulate that close to your period starting. But, you said you only have 2 pills left, so you should know soon because when you finish the pack, your period should come. Give it a week and see what happens.

I dont know if you tested too soon bc you are not saying when did you have sex, you sound like a grown woman, 2 weeks after conception you can test, better first morning urine...but I'm sure you are not pg. Stop stressing about it

did the condom break? You should stick to your scheduled pill taking, don't take it too soon or too late. It won't be more effective if you take it sooner. You're more likely to overdose on the medication and have it not work than to be intensifying its properties. Get new condoms! You're probably okay. Test if you miss a period.

Sounds like you have done all you could do. I would say that your chances of being pregnant are quite slim.
Aside from the morning after pill, I think you have taken the highest precautions possible.
