I have a friend who is throwing some good ones around the 80s, but sometimes he just can't get it in the glove everytime. As a catcher, I want him to be on target so how can I get him to put it in the glove everytime?

Practice makes perfect, but Perfect practice is the key...

1. Work with your friend on his mechanics, good stride, arm slot, follow through.

2. Make sure his plant toe is pointing right at the target every time.

3. Throw at a velocity where accuracy is better and gradually build up to the faster pitching.

4. Repeat 4-5x per week. Attend any camps or seminars offered.

Just keep a positive attitude and "visualize throwing strikes" and it will also help... Good Luck!

Well i pitch and catch and what i find works for me and for the pitchers i catch for is 1) move ur glove if ur the catcher to compensate for the pitcher 2) keep him calm 3) Stride out and it will give u more velocity and accuracy 4) Take ur time and find a good delivery that works for u 5) Don't think about what ur doing just do it and u will pitch better. That's what works 4 me u should give it a try

Tell him he needs to focus on having consistent mechanics, as far as his windup and delivery. That way those pieces of the puzzle are always the same and he can adjust his arm slot and release.

Just tell him to keep practicing and focus harder on the spot he's trying to hit and not worry about throwing it as hard as he can
