For the last few months, about halfway through my birth control pack, my breasts get super sensitive. So sensitive, the water from the shower hurts. Is this normal?

Not necessarily normal, but not uncommon. What kind of pill are you on? The one that increases in dosage each week? Perhaps the dosage is too high for you... I'd ask my doctor. Tell him/her about any other hormone type symptoms that might be coinciding with this.

Estrogen in the pill can stimulate breast tissue, and cysts may form. This can lead to tenderness and perhaps sharp pain. Lowering the estrogen dose of the pill often helps. Of course, an exam is needed to rule out any significant problem,

Talk to your doctor, and check out http://health.ivillage.com/gyno/gynobc/0,,6f0f,00.html for more information on the pill and breast pain. Good luck!

The birth control is probably giving a higher dose than your body needs and is causing sensitivity. You shouldnt have any long term effects from it though.

Yes - you are regulating your hormones so you should expect this. Double check with your Dr. at your annual.

Its normal. Cut out caffeine about midway during your cycle and it should subside.
