Sometimes people can be ignorant of the truth, have prejudices they don't see, or even say something that makes fun of someone else's very dearly held beliefs. Like if you were to ask:

"If going to church makes you a christian, does going to a garage make you a car?"

That might be funny to you, but might hurt someone else.

I was raised that all people are created equal and not to make racial comments towards anyone. To this day, I still don't criticize people for their race. In fact, some of our best friends are black.

However, I think it depends on where you were brought up and who your parents are. I now live in the south and people are very biased on race and do not like blacks. It's not fair, but it's something they have learned throughout their lives. People in the south just don't like outsiders, or any one that thinks differently than they do.

Some people are small minded and can't think past what they were taught at childhood. Which means they still have the mind of a child because all blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians and other races are not all the same. There is good and bad in all races and cultures. We can not judge some peoples behavior on all the people of one race.

People are never satisfied with them self and for many error that they make they try to blame others, specially that second class people. But what about if these people did not existed, who would they have blame the wrong to, but would had chosen other that did. Because we are a nation that is so ungrateful and don't appreciate one another, we have become so unfair to others and we don't look at our owns faults.

Insecurity leads people to make disparaging comments in an attempt to "explain away" or raise themselves above other individuals.

If people really wanted to know about another culture's mindset, attitude, etc. they'd find out instead of making a general comment or idiotic statement based on what they 'gather' or hear in a song.

This goes for both sides.

For some odd reason everybody thinks their race is superior to the rest and they sure as heck don't stop at blacks. I must admit, I really don't like calling Africans "black"; addressing other human beings by the color of their skin is such an ugly thing! (black, white, yellow, brown, it's never ending!)

I guess because a lot of the black population, and no offense but it is true, seem to cause more crime than the white population. And unfortunatly some of the white population gets angry and become racist against blacks. But that doesn't mean it is okay to do so.
