Nice try, but you can't describe the support for Bush in one line.

It's a complex argument that's not perfect. Any true conservative will cite faults with Bush, even though they support many of his actions. If you take any major issue out there, you will find that conservatives and liberals will approach it from different angles. On occasion when both do agree on the same issue, Democrats and Republicans still find a way to DISAGREE in the step-by-step method to resolve it.

You should describe what events or actions you are referring to, since you have homed in on Bush, and why you feel they are wrong.

He follows through on what he says that he is going to do, has a sound reason and foundation for his actions, and does not rely on public opinion polls or approval ratings to make his decisions. It's what ticks you liberals off about him - you whine and cry and jump up and down and call him names and make up lies about him and his family and his record, and he still goes ahead and does what he believes to be the right thing...

Only liberals would profess to know what the best and the right thing to do is, the President goes for what he sees as the most prudent path... and the truth of the matter is, despite what the liberals think (that they know everything and that they know what is best, instantly) - is that history will be the judge of what we are doing now, and in time, though many of his decisions are not popular right now, in time many of his decisions will prove to be the right ones...

If you are implying Bush is wrong, then thats your opinion.
Being firm is a reflection of the strength of ones convictions and does not guarantee being right all the time.
Its ok to be firm and be wrong, its not ok to be arrogantly condescending towards people who think differently than ones self. This course is being wrong is most assuredly your opinion and you are entitled to it as you are entitled to be wrong. In this case your are meeting both conditions.

There is no right or wrong in politics. Politics are very subjective. What is right to a liberal is wrong to a conservative and vice/versa. Thus conservatives like Bush because he has consistently done what is right in their eyes.

First you need to understand the roots of conservative thinking, here is the main one. Nine times out of ten the conservative will support and protect the father figure regardless of one actions.

You say firm I say stubborn and stupid. It is much more brave to admit wrongdoing and change then to hang on to your stubborn beliefs at the detriment of your own soldiers and help that should be given to our country ( education, healthcare, social security, etc)
