Military helmets?

While watching the war on T.V., I have noticed most of the soldiers have hard helmets but every so often I see one with kind of a floppy hat. What kind of helmet is that?

It's not a helmet, it's a "Boonie Hat". They became popular during the Vietnam war.

Boonie hats are a lot cheaper to make than helmets.
