The formula for calculating slope is (difference between y coordinates) divided by (difference between x coordinates). This gives 5/0, which, as several have pointed out is an impossible division. Therefore, we say the slope is undefined, or the slope does not exist. The line through the two points is a vertical line, and vertical lines never have a slope. (NOTE: this is different from having a slope of 0, which is the slope of horizontal lines.)

the answer is 5/0 which would be 5 (undefined/vertical)
use your coordinates (4,0) (4,5) as:
(X1,Y1) (X2,Y2)
use this formula ----> Y2-Y1 / X2-X1 / means divided by
m (slope) = 5/0 or 5 the slope of the line is five.
to check this, plot the points on the graph and count from one plotted point to the next. you should move up 5 points ....my math is rusty so you better do this yourself. i think i am on the right track.
hope this helps!

(4,0), (4,5)
slope = (5-0)/(4-4)
slope = 5/0
since (in algebra) you're not supposed to divide by 0, the slope is undefined (also because it's a vertical line).

The slope is 5. To find the slope of a line between two points, look at it as follows...(4,0) consider these numbers x1 and y1...(4,5) consider these numbers x2 and y2. Once you have them labelled, use this formula to find slope....Slope=y2-y1/x2-x1
