No. You could have written that into the offer to purchase, but then the seller probably would have countered with a higher sale price.

I can tell you from experience, NO. Not unless the seller doesn't follow through with selling the house.
The house inspection is for your benefit, and the sellers don't have to fix a thing, though most will do some work as long as you don't get petty about the repairs wanted.
We had an inspection on a home, and the seller didn't want to do some things, and this was our decision to pull out of the deal all together without losing your earnest money. You will however, have the choice to share your report to prospect future buyers, but this is up to you as you paid for it.
Now, what happened with our 2nd prospective home was our buyers agent was able to work a deal with the same Inspection company, and we paid only half of the inspection costs as this was the 2nd time around. Good luck in your home search, it can be stressful but a very rewarding investment.

I have to agree with everyone else. The buyer pays for the inspection. Consider, would you want an inspection from someone paid by the seller? Wouldn't you be suspicious that if the inspector was being paid by the seller? Since you pay for him, and he gets paid regardless, you can feel sure his assessment is honest.

If you had gotten the house, you might have been able to request additional money to cover that cost, but otherwise, you are stuck with the bill.

What you can do, is let your agent know that you are willing to sell your inspection report to any other prospective buyers of that property.Make sure the listing agent of the said property knows. We do that here...maybe let them have it for 1/2 price. Quite often new buyers don't want to spend that kind of money, but would appreciate an opportunity to get a report at a reduced rate. You can at least get some of your money back. Good luck!

You paid the inspector, right? His job had nothing to do with whether you got the house or not, so why would he refund his fee? If you paid a mechanic to inspect a used car you were considering, and then didn't buy the car, would you expect the mechanic to refund his fee?

In short, the answer is no.

If you are asking, the answer is probably no. You just have a nice inspection of that particular house.

Sellers usually don't pay for this.
