I don't know what zulu music is...

but anyway, American music is "so" black because black music has influenced a lot of other genres. It's THAT cool!

If you don't like American music, why don't you just focus on your across the pond music...

Ignoring the racial overtones of the question, the real point to be made is that American music has always been black. Even rock has roots in American rock & roll, be bop jazz, blues, ragtime, folk music and ***** spirituals.

You can't have rock without paying homage to rock & roll. You cant begin to discuss rock & roll without recalling that Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis offered tribute to the "nego" music they emulated. Clear connections can be made from this music back through jitterbug and big band groups from the 30's and 40's. Americans (and culture hungry Britains) wore their flapper fringes and slicked back hair to "charleston" and "black bottom" to Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong. Steven Foster's popular music of the 19th century was clearly lifted from the black sharecroppers and slaves.

Your clear separation of rock from it's American origins only serves to demonstrate your complete lack of knowledge of the subject. How can you expect to argue your point if you don't know what you're talking about?

I'm American. Almost all I listen to is rock. Try some Puddle of Mudd or Seether or Nirvana. You can't judge all music by what you hear on whatever you're listening to. o_O This is the Melting Pot, man. We've got everything you could ever want and then some.

I am a rocker and have been all my life, but american music started in the black communities. Our original music and the music that is exclusively ours as americans is Jazz and Blues. In the 50's us whites wanted Pat Boone to sing "Tutti Frutti" or what have you instead of "Little Richard", tell me, who would you rather hear sing. I'd rather hear "Little Richard". Anyway these days it's different, there are whites and blacks who sing or play just as good as the other. I play bass in a black gospel choir and have earned their respect, and caused them to realize that white boys have rhythm too! lol!

Rock is from black people too sweety. Sorry......Blacks rule hip hop, blues, jazz, and of course ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elvis Presley bought and STOLE songs from black artist. Hank Williams learned how to play guitar from a black man. Jazz was invented by blacks in Louisiana. R & B and Hip Hop drive all the dress, speech and mannerisms you see today! Most if not all country and rock musicians have blacks play and instrument in the band and have blacks for back up singers. GET A LIFE

Obviously you know little about music if you think it has 'color'. In reality, African gum boot music, rock, and gospel all come from the same roots. American music is everything from RAP to Opera, you obviously are listening to the wrong station.
