they have to be within the book. I also need one characteristic for each. i've already tried cliffnotes & sparknotes..but neither have the Historical Background. You don't have to list 4..i just need as many as i can get (up to 4)...that sounded confusing..sorry. But it's due tomorrow..so please HELP!!

(4) Characteristics:
1) Height of the Cold War Era ( Late 1950's-60's ) As noted by the downed fighter pilot and the evacuation.
2) The Struggle of the kids themselves. The Conch- Supposed to stand for democracy and free speach.
3) The Glasses- Glasses make fire. Fire is Power ( much like being a Nuclear Power ) Everyone wants the power.
4) When the kids kill the boar. The not only kill it, but rally around on sticking spears up its ***. Shows the brutality in man and the bullying nature inside. Much like the Communist blocks bullied surround nations.
