With the war overseas and the drastic overuse of our natrual resoures, Gas prices will continue to rise.

Why would they go down? When the oil companies raised the prices to near $3 a gallon, they feared the worst, and what happened? Nothing, people still bought just as much gas. If they can charge that much more and sell the same amount, why should they lower it?

I also don't see the prices going much higher, the oil companies know that there are limits and when they are a factor in a major change in the auto industry, they can't push it much farther.

No they will not go down & probably will continue to rise. They are going to continue to go up until they reach a point where they quit selling it (gasoline) at a normal pace. This is called making a good business decision. We as American are VERY dependent on gasoline and the oil compaines have finally figured it out. They have also figured out that our dependency will force us to pay what they demand at the pump.

So as good business they are selling it for everything they can. In my side business of transporting cars my actual cost per mile is around $0.25 and I sell my service at $1.25 per mile. If I could get more I would. Anyone who runs a business wants to make a profit as large as possible.

You might be astounded to know that product you buy at Wal-Mart for $5.00 only cost them $1.00, but there you see the value in what you are buying. You don't realize the value in gasoline because we have been spoiled for a very long time with ridicously low prices. Even with our prices where they are now we are still not approaching what the Europeans pay for fuel.

So in short, no gas prices will continue to rise & I imagine they will level off @ $5.00 per gallon.

Gas prices will never go down again. I live in CT and a gallon of regular unleaded is 3.40

it sucks because nowadays you have to spend alot more money just to get good engines in your cars. more cars are being stocked with v-4's and 6's. and new trucks are even being loaded with 4 and i5's.

They will eventually go down... this can't be forever... (can it?)

But seriously, I think they will go down. Once people stop fighting like crazy over oil and we find other ways to fuel vehicles, gas prices will go down.

It COULD go down now if we joined OPEC... but I don't see that happening.

Not much. The oil companies have gotten their taste of blood and they like it. Can anyone else see a problem that Exxon-Mobil had over $10 BILLION in PROFIT for one quarter?
