In the US, Pokemon Emerald is the newest version. It is a sort-of remake of Ruby/Sapphire versions. There are also FireRed and LeafGreen versions, which are remakes of the original Red and Green (Blue) versions on the old Game Boy system. But FR and LG (the remakes) were released in the US after Ruby/Sapphire and before Emerald.

the newest that supposed to be coming out in mid september are
pokemon mystery dungeon: red rescue team and blue rescue team. both differ like pokemon red and green and yellow. u catch my drift?

pokemon leaf green is the last of the pokemon series of 5 game
series so it's not recently new.
sapphire,ruby fire red, emerald,& leaf green. this may nto be the
right pkm oder hope this helps :)
