I just started taking the pill to help with cramps, and I started the Day One method where you take it the first day of your period, but sometimes my cramps get so bad I throw up. if I get sick any other time would I be protected still? should I take another pill, but then what iff I vomit again? or what should I do?

You better call your doctor or nurse, especially if this is your first pack.

Any advice you get here could lead you astray.

I think for the first couple weeks they tell you to use back up anyhow.

I would normally say take your next pill as soon as possible after the nausea has passed, just like you forgot to take a pill.

But I don't think I can recommend that in your current situation.

If you cramps are so bad they make you throw up, and you doctor prescribed you a pill?

They make a patch for Pete's sake! And a shot!

Not to mention your cramps could be serious.
I vote you need a second opinion.

In the meanwhile use a second method of protection. Call you doctor, ask why you can't be different delivery method. And get a referral for a second opinion on your cramps that are so bad you have to vomit. They are interfering with your life, which is a good enough reason.

God bless you and keep you. I hope you feel better soon.
