Is there a god?

Can anyone give me 100% proof that there is a God. Not circumstantial evidence. Not the tripe of “see the flowers bloom every morning” or “the miracle of birth” – which is a wonderful thing indeed. I want 100% scientific proof. Some proof that somebody reputable has spoken to God and has received an audible response back. I am NOT going to accept anything in the Bible because that is up for interpretation and some people consider the bible fiction. I do have ‘some’ faith, but to believe that there is a supreme being with absolutely NO evidence – not even a shred of it – is hard to swallow. Near Death Experiences to me are only induced by chemical synapses in the brain (similar to dreams). I need 100% hard core evidence where brain chemical alterations were NOT involved.

The existence of God cannot be proved scientifically. Mind you, science is only an interpretation of our nature too, and by no mean does it describe the truth about the universe. Why do we consider science real? Because experimental results are repeatable, predictable, deterministic and observable. God's "action", on the other hand, are not repeatable, not predictable, non-deterministic and not observable. So what seems more real? Science or God? It's up for you to decide.

The second thing is, science cannot be used to explain everything, especially events that happened in the past. There are different theories to suggest what may have actually happened, but none of them can be verified completely (what I meant is that you cannot account for the possibility of missing information, so our view of the past is incomplete, and so our theories are also incomplete). So does that mean the existence of God can explain everything else that science cannot explain? Maybe, we don't know.

I you can travel back in time to a point long long time ago, hop off the top of a mountain and release your parachutes. You can use physical laws to explain why you are descending slowly, but what are the villagers going to see? God, perhaps?

I'm afraid that science has not "proved" that there is God, but I have read articles that point to the presence of a great creator or orchestrator of the big bang among other things.

I believe that God exists because I have faith, and how can you sit in the middle of a bay and see nothing but the sky, dolphins, birds, and the water and think that there isn't a God? The world is huge, and I have to believe that it is through divine work that we are all here.

It is one of the greatest debates of all time, and I'm afraid you aren't going to be able to get any answer but "no" if you must demand scientific proof. Just have faith. Believe.

Well, I will tell you about a few stories I have heard. The first one is about my great grandpa. He was a missionary in China during the war. One day he had to run away from the Chinesse soldiers, so he went on his bike in the mountains. He accidently fell off it over a cliff. He was 100% sure he was gonna die, but all of a sudden he felt these stong hands lift him up and onto his bike. He got away safely from those who tried to kill him. This is a true story, and I am not making this up.

Then another story where these missionaries were working in this village. I forget which village or country.? There was another village that was in war with the one village the missionaries where. One day they decided to go to the missionaried compound to kill all of them. The missionaries knew of their coming and so they tried to stay calm and they prayed to God. That night when all of it was supposed to happen, but nothing did. Years later when both villages were friends the missionaries ask the other village what happened the night they were going to kill them. They replied that they were coming, but then they saw another wall around the compound and these big shining people with long sword. When they saw that they ran! This, too, is a true stories.

There are so many stories like these ones I just told you. They were not in a trace or a dream. They were experiecing these for real life. Both of these stories happen to Christians who believed in the one true God. Don't start making excuses about them not being true. But I bet after these two true stories you will still not believe. You probably stubborn for hard evidence, but isn't this hard enough evidence for you.

But a lot of about God takes Faith. If you don't have any then you will never see truth that may be right in front of. I am sorry if I offended you in anyway becauses that sure is not my intention. I just want you to know!

The un answered question. Assuming the big bang theory is correct, as to the beginning of the universe, who put the gases there that exploded?

At some point in ALL theories, sciences can't explain how the chemicals, etc, that interacted to begin evolution got there.

There has to be more than we can possibly understand or comprehend.

so, is there a god? No. There is A God. he works on faith.

Well if there was scientific proof that God did exist wouldn't that ruin the fact that were here to be tested to see if we have faith? No, no one has proof, I am a very firm believer, I choose to believe and I have felt that it is right. you can't deny the power and peace you feel when you know that what your doing it right. To be a real person it takes more then Eyes to see the world. Sometimes it takes your heart.

Well first of all atleast your thinking for yourself and searching for an answer that you can believe in, that is the first step. Secondly, I don't think that anyone (including myself) playing around on yahoo answers is going to be able to answer your question. The only advice I can give you is first find faith in yourself, there is 100% proof that you exsist so start there, trying to answer the question "Is There A God?" is a little overwhelming.

Yes there is a God and I have audibly heard Him. And no, I'm not crazy. I have heard His voice and felt His presence just as real as any human. But even before that, I knew He was real. I know you didn't want any biblical quotes, but after Thomas saw Jesus back from the dead, he had to touch him to believe that He was real. And Jesus replied, "You have seen and now you believe. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe." You are the only one who can answer this question for yourself.

Yes I can proove that easily enough for you now..

First I'll prove the existence of Devil in this world, because that would be easy enough to prove, with concrete evidences.

There are a section of people who worships satan in this world. They give out their souls and receive whatever they want except things like love , peace and happiness .. There would be no waiting, no uncertainities ,no things like that. And these uncertainties and delays are the reasons which makes men question the existence of God right? Evil worshippers are on a one on one relationship with the devil. Their ceremonies would only doubly ensure the existence of God . Since we are not directly aware of their practices it would be enough for us to keep in mind that Devil exists in this world.

So just think for yourself, if there exist a devil will there be also a God? just think ..

If you want theoretical proof then I can provide that too..

Everything in this world exist in binary oppostions, like, man / woman, good / bad , black/ white , light/ dark and so on. It is this opposition that creates meaning. Just imagine if the world consisted only of Men will they be called anylonger men? It is the difference from women that makes us call men by that name right? Its the same with each every concept in this world.This applies to the concepts of good and bad and to its ultimate personifications God/ Devil too. God means the opposite of Satan and so does satan means the one who rebels against God. So if this is so how can one say that one exists and the other doesnt?

So if one has to reject the concept of God one has to reject the concept of satan too. otherwise its a contradiction.

Its easy enough to proove the existence of Devil because he is on the run out for taking away more and more children of God.. But this would give the greatest proof that God exists and Devil is not smart enough to understand that and do something about it!

I THINK YOU HAVE THE WRONG CONCEPT OF WHAT GOD IS. FIRST ASK YOURSELF DO YOU KNOW WRONG FROM RIGHT. THEN ASK YOURSELF HOW IS IT THAT YOU KNOW AND UNDERSTAND RIGHT FROM WRONG. EVEN A CHILD WHEN DOING SOMETHING WRONG HIDES HIS ACTIONS THUS HE KNOWS RIGHT FROM WRONG. HOW IS IT THAT ALL CULTURES ON EARTH HAVE THE SAME BASIC CONCEPT OF THIS AND ITS THE SAME EVERYWHERE. THOU SHALL NOT STEAL. THOU SHALL NOT KILL ECT..ECT.. IF THERE IS NO ONE GOD THEN RIGHT AND WRONG SHOULD BE AS RANDOM AS THE LANGUAGES SPOKEN ON THE EARTH .. AND WHEN A SOCIETY ARISES OUTSIDE OF THE REALM OF WHAT IS COMMONLY BELIEVED TO BE RIGHT AND WRONG IT DOESN'T FUNCTION AS EFFICIENTLY. THE SOCIETY FALLS. THERE MUST BE AN AUTHOR FOR WHAT IS MORALITY , ESPECIALLY WHEN OUR NATURE IS TO DO THE WRONG THINGS AND WE GO AGAINST IT. WE HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR BECAUSE OF THESE MORAL QUALITIES IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT THEY GO AGAINST OUR VERY NATURE. GOD IS NOT AN ENTITY IN THE SKY WATCHING OVER US. faith in God is the biggest element. at the same time as i wanted God the most at the same time as situations for me were somewhat undesirable God replied my prayers. at the same time as My relations develop into combating and abusing me God were given me out of that concern and right into a significantly better position. i'm now married and that i continually wanted a touch lady.
