What if your co-worker looks at porn on the internet at work? I am a female and the person doing this is a male. I know it sounds gross but he watches it and then uses the bathroom right after every single time. He thinks I can't see what he is looking at. I have already told my boss but I didn't want anyone getting fired over it so I just asked that he send out a memo saying the computers are monitored and not to use innapropriate sites. It worked for a bit but now he's back to doing it again. It is so gross. Would you say anything? Should I get him terminated or would you just say something to the guys face?

OK we are in a room together with no walls between us. We have customers walking to the window for help. And porn is no place for a dispatch center in a police station. So don't tell me not to look at his computer. You can't help but see it. IDIOT

Ooh, wow. I don't believe that qualifies as sexual harassment. However, I'm sure that he is not following company policy and could easily be terminated. Why don't you just mention to him that you can actually see what he's looking at online, that it's against company policy, and that you don't want to see him fired. Do so in a polite, un-confrontational way though. He may be offended and might even deny it. If this doesn't work...heck yeah, get him fired.

Yes, it's sexual harassment, and no I might no longer record the intent for leaving as such. I might placed "change of reviews" or anything much less competitive. The intent being is seeing that there may be plenty of fake accusations in sexual harassment, and placing that in your app is also a pink flag to a advantage business enterprise that can have had a nasty revel in with a fake accusation. I might placed down anything indistinct and I might no longer cross into a lot element if requested. It sounds too gossipy, despite the fact that it's actual, a chairman does not desire to listen to gossip approximately a former boss. Rise above it and maintain it functional and official!

Its not sexual harassment cause he has no idea you can see him. In fact he may have a counter claim against you for breach of privacy. Now if its so obvious ANYONE can see yes it might be, but you may still have to voice a compliant to him 1st. Whos to say porn is an "inappropiate" site? He has a way, just approach him or ask your boss to send out a specific "quit masterbating on buisness hours" complaint. And quit looking at his comp for goodness sake, would you want someone rummaging through your things? theres probably a reason he doesnt think you can see, quit compromising his attempts to shield you just so you can be offended

Yes it is.
First of all, if this offends you, you need to bring it to the attention of your supervisor (or his, if he is your supervisor). I am sure that they do not know that he is using a company computer for his personal "pleasure", if you will. I am sure they will act on it right away. The guy needs to be fired, because just sending a memo will not pinpoint exactly who it is. He will think that they don't know who, and will continue what he is doing (which obviously he is). By not naming him, you are condoning his behavior by keeping quiet. You are covering for him. Speak up. If he doesn't want to lose his job, he should save his porn peeping for his off time.
If they do not, then you would be able to go through the court system and fight not only the guy, but your company as well.

This is not what the sexual harassment laws were enacted to protect.
Although we do have judicial activism to say that yes, you are being sexually harassed because you have a weaker stomach than he for porn.
Ironic that something that makes you uncomfortable is considered sexual harassment. Just like a picture of a naked female in a male's locker is actually sexual harassment if any females are "offended" by that picture.
The sexual harassment laws were enacted to protect people from having to perform sexual favors to keep their job.
If I were in your position I would report it to his supervisor directly. If that fails your only recourse is to report his supervisor to HR. Be prepared for a fight, you may even be harassed for going over their head. Specially if your in a male dominated work environment.
Talk to a lawyer in your area as they will know the exact circumstances in which you can sue or mediate for damages.
Good luck....

It could be. You need to tell the person that you can see what he is doing. If he doesn't stop or block his monitor from your view tell your boss. If your boss doesn't do something then they could be creationg a hostile work environment a component of sexual harrassment. Next step is your personnel department and then a lawyer

If this person has not said anything to you or given you any reason for you to feel harassed and you have not mentioned to him how would he know that you are offended by this. Have a talk with the guy give him the benefit of the doubt.

If you can actually see the pornographic material and it offends you, it is sexual harassment. If you know he looks at the material but you can't see it then it is a production and resource issue and should be handled by his manager.
In either case, it is very unprofessional. Your boss is also guilty of sexual harassment and could be terminated if you have reported it and he does nothing about it.

No it isn't sexual harassment. Get your IT department to do their jobs and block out the porn sites. Then he won't be able to look at porn so its not a problem.
