These people have already said that they would love to destroy Israel and the United States. I really fail to understand how you can get behind these guys.

I think you are talking to the wrong people. I am liberal but know that Hezbollah is a group supporting Iran and has goals to destroy Israel and the US. There is no illusion there. I hate war and what it does but I understand what Israel is doing. They are a small country that is surrounded by numerous countries wanting to eliminate them. This is a survival move for them. It is just sad what is happening and lots of innocent people killed on both sides.

The US however sure did not help matters by dethrowning Saddam. His party was the Baath party which is sympathetic to western interests. Now the Iraq majority which is Shiite will come to power being 3/4 of the population. Since Iran is Shiite, it is not hard to know where things are going. Since the Hezbollah is an ally to Iran, and the US has destabalized the middle east with the Iraq war, Israel now has to prepare for things that are not looking bright in their future.

I understand the big picture and how nations have to position themselves, it does not mean I like it.

On what basis of facts do you accuse liberals of supporting Hezbollah and Hamas? Could it be that the lies Rush and Bill O'Reilly stuff down your throat have forever corrupted your thinking? Just because liberals do not believe that war is a solution to political conflicts doesn't mean that they support the "enemy". When was the last time our leaders pursued diplomacy rather than violence? Your president claims he's a "war president" and thus far he's done everything in his power to prove it.

Interesting that the war mongers and supporters of military intervention have no problem with other people dying, but few, if any have their kids fighting in Iraq. As long as it's someone else's kid getting blown up, it's okay. So if you really believe in your "cause", if you truly believe that the US and Israel should be waging war, then put your money where your mouth is, march down to your local recruiting office, join the marines, and prove just how patriotic you are. Anything less and you're just a windbag.

Some liberals will take the rights of individuals, human rights, over causes and parties. None that I know openly support hate groups, and it's certainly not in the definition.

I am a liberal, yet I side against Hamas every time. Their racism and hatred is actually a part of their official doctrine, and they desire the destruction of the state of Israel. Why would I support that? Why would any liberal support that? Hezbollah seems similarly hateful, and unafraid to rocket Israel... so long as the retaliation is not too great and they can start their attacks from residential areas they hope Israel won't hit. Or worse, they play with the lives of their own people, hoping Israel will hit residential areas so it will give Israel bad press.

Maybe you are referring to liberals who want a cease-fire from Israel? That's about the only way I can make sense of what you have here. In that case, those may be people who are simply tired of watching innocent people die. That makes them human.

I don't want to be involved in a war that has been going on for thousands of years. Palestine fought for and won control of the land. After WWII, England and the US decided to take that away and give it to the jews. NOT OUR PLACE! Now, we have problems. What I want to know is if our whole point of war is to bring democracy to these countries, how can we turn around and say that the people they elect aren't the right people? Hamas was elected. I don't know why, but I bet the people who live there know. All we do is speculate. The fact is, they were elected. period.

Why do you assume that just because someone is a liberal, they automatically support hezbollah and hamas?

Stop this PROPAGANDA!!!
Hezbollah and Hamas are movements of resistance to occupation and aggression ; they seek freedom and dignity .
They fight their enemies ; who kills their people and destroy their houses every day . "ISRAEL" is committing crimes, massacres to innocent civilians , so these movements try to stop these actions .
Support is needed from every one who loves FREEDOM and suffered from UNJUSTICE .
These movements would not kill AMERICANS : liberals or others . Why we couldn't distinguish between ZIONIST "ISRAELIS" and the other western people ??!!!!!!

Because if they were against them, somebody might make a correlation between that and support for the war on terror and/or the president, and goodness knows nobody wants that!
