Well despite what many feminists would have us believe there are differences between men and women, that is that way mother nature or God created us (depending on what you believe). We have naturally different skill sets. In general men define their self worth by their status and resources (ie their ability to provide) whereas women define their self worth by the relationships they form. Men want to get a great job and aquire wealth, women want to create a home and a family. But the feminist ideals in our society tell young girls that that shouldn't feel that way and if they do it's the result of being brainwashed by our "partriarchal" society. They feel that we're all basically identical and should do and share everything equally. Whereas intuitively anybody with common sense can see that we're different yet made to complement each other perfectly. That doesn't mean that a women should be a slave who cooks and cleans all day, just that it's more natural for a women to stay home and care for the kids, as can be seen by the developmental problems many children have that are raised in day care.

i think it goes back to the Bible. Eve was punished by having kids and bearing pain while giving child birth. Adam had to work hard and labor for his family. Plus in other parts of the Bible it says women should stay home and tend to the house.
I believe after a man sees a women have a baby he feels like a PUNK 'cause he just seen his girl go through something feel me? So he so embarrassed he wants to keep her in the house to cook and clean and take care of kids. Also it is a insecure thing for most men when they find that perfect 1 they want to keep her on lock down. They don't want her to be around other men, or even other females if they feel like her female Friends are slut-ed out.

I think somehow yes, although it's not a MUST. It depends on the situation, but naturally women are more capable in household art. It's an inherent capacity. Especially in regard with fostering a child for it's the woman who bears the child and breast-feeds them, so she is the best person who can take care of them. Now let me ask u: why do they call for men to join the army in war time, everywhere in the world? Is it Unwritten law?

Traditionally, that's the way it's been. Ages ago men did the hunting and women tended the crops and kids. Nowadays, more and more men are caring for the kids and being househusbands. Whatever works for each individual is fine. I myself don't see cooking and such as the woman's responsibility. It all depends on who's good at what. My husband can't cook too well but he's great at the BBQ. He's also better at handyman work than I am. However, it's not his responsibility. He just happens to be better at it than me.

This notion is a product of traditional ideas about the roles of men and women. In Western society, it's an unwritten law, that somewhat prevails (although we'd love to think it doesn't!). However, if you think about other societies, where women are barred from public professions and education, their role is very much determined by written laws.

This is a tough question to answer without stepping on somebody's toes. Both parents should care for the kids, but if one works and the other doesnt, the one who works shouldnt have to do as much of the household work. Even if that means the Dad is doing all of the household stuff. Ive stayed home with my daughter for a month, and honestly its not that hard to take care of the house, laundry, kid, and dinner by yourself. Back to your question the non-working spouse should take care of everything that you mentioned, Male or Female.

This was an understood thing back long time ago. Not so today, but it's hard to get rid of old lines of thinking. Today it should be a shared thing because of the demands placed on people today.
Also I feel that if the man likes to cook, because some men do, then let him! Reversed roles are not uncommon in some households. Though it migt be kind of hard to get some people to accept this in today's society.

Because it's a man's world, always was and it's the way they want it. Also, too, plus, besides they want you working and bringing home the bacon. Why else would they have engineered and discovered how to make you do that? They've come up with the Pill, Pantyhose and Pampers to ease you out of the house from 9 to 5.

Yes. It is in the Bible. I am a woman, and I can't stand a lazy or nasty female! Clean your house! Make your kids behave!, and at least try to cook sometime for crying out loud. And women need to stop whining. Just do what needs doing and everything will be alright.

I don't think that in today's world it is the sole responsibility of the women, unless you make it that way. I am not going to cook, clean, and take of the kids all by myself for that my man could get the hell out of the house I won't need him for anything. It's 50/50 at my place baby.
