There are a couple of ways to use a stylus pen with a computer. The first way is if your computer is built for it; that is, if you have a Tablet PC. A Tablet PC is a laptop whose screen can be turned around and used as a writing surface. Such laptops come with styluses and special note-taking software.

If you already have a desktop and want to use a stylus with it, you need a graphics tablet. A tablet is essentially a device that attaches to your computer via USB and uses a stylus to control the mouse cursor. In addition, a tablet can also sense pressure and angle at which the stylus is held (so if you are using a drawing application, such as Adobe Photoshop, you can vary thickness and angle of the stroke).

The most popular maker of graphic tablets is Wacom Corporation. Check out http://www.wacom.com for different options. If you just want to draw on the computer for fun, I recommend the low end Wacom Tablet, the Graphire (http://www.wacom.com/graphire/index.cfm). If you are planning to use professionally, then you will probably want a larger tablet, such as the Wacom Intuos (http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/intuos.cfm). Finally, if you want to be able to draw directly on screen, you'll want a tablet with a built-in screen, the Wacom Cintiq (http://www.wacom.com/lcdtablets/index.cfm). That's the most expensive one, but it's very good.

Other companies make tablets as well, but they aren't as good as Wacom's. Look around (search for "graphics tablet" on froogle.com, for example) and see what works for you.

No. To use a stylus with a desktop computer, you'd need to buy a graphics tablet.

You can get monitors for it. They also make a touch pad that works with a stylus type pen. This is mainly for artistic work but can be used for documentation and other applications.

No, not unless you have a touch screen. But you can buy an attachment to turn any LCD into a touch screen, http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/peripherals/navisis-turns-regular-monitors-into-touch-screen-monitors-173203.php wireless stylus is optional. The device runs about $180 but I didn't have any luck finding it online.
