I attempted to post an answer to Policegirl`s question about moslems.

However, Yahoo decided it was not an appropriate answer and prevented it from being posted, yet they allowed the question.

It`s quite obvious Yahoo can operate by double standards when it suits them.

Freedom of speech is being eroded.

Censorship is rarely a good thing, but it happens often these days.

You must have been reported by several people. I think it takes more than one report to get to deleted. So you offended several people with your answer.

I think it's a fine line. If people don't feel safe in here or that they will be treated fairly it would not be a nice place to hang out and have dialog. I have heard that some people have gotten deleted for just disagreeing but I suspect the F word entered into it or something, to offend more than one.

FYI aren't we in "International Waters" so to speak here(where there is no law)?

Interestingly you do not give any indication of what you tried to post as an answer. Freedom of speech is not being able to say what you want to who you want when you want - it also means respecting others and the community as well

There are to many people wanting to gain fame by disrupting someone elses pastime. They have some corporate emotionless bosses that don't even use the sight that lay down the rules. You can answer any way you want as long as you know how to word so as to not hurt their emotionless feelings :)

Yahoo is a private business, and therefore can censor whatever they like. But, if they wanted, they could not censor anything. Of course, that's how law suits happen. Funny place to live, no?

If I were to put up a bulletin board & invite people to post notes, pictures, thoughts, etc. I'd have every right, as the owner of the bulletin board, to take down what ever pictures I felt like! If YOU put up a bulletin board, I'd have NO right to go rip stuff off of it! (Unless it was libelous of me, I guess)

Biggles it's all in how you word something. Apparently there were readers that took offense to how you answered/worded the question. If people read it and find it offensive they have the right to click the "Report abuse" link.
