On a scale from 1-10 . I would say 1- keeping up with the Joneses. Who is that ? .... Doing my best to keep up with my life .

8. I'm concerned about stuff like, being as cultured as other people, or as well spoken but not so much with stuff like having the most recent phone or car. Its supposed to be very good for your health to feel slightly above those around you, and a bit of competition is also healthy, so I don't think there is much harm in trying to keep up a bit with the Joneses.

A 2 at most. I'm satisfied with my life and my choices. What others do or have is their business: I am happy for them when they buy or do things that they enjoy. Instead of keeping with the Joneses, I remain true to myself and my goals.

depends if the Joneses have the same taste as me..... in all seriousness, i like to have stuff that is clean, not shabby and in good order, i dont really care if it costs a hundred pounds or a tenner as long as i like it, it works and it does its job well. there are times however that people get cool gagets and stuff and i think ooooh i want one of those, so i would have to say 5 out of 10

Depends on what area of life you are looking at...
As far as my home and property, I'm somewhere around a 5. I live in a very nice, old, Victorian neighborhood. I try to keep my home and yard groomed and the flowers, shrubs, etc. neat...I paint every four years and shovel the snow on time. I don't want my neighbors to feel like they must cross the street and wear garlic when they pass my house..
On the other hand, as far as possessions go, I don't give a hoot who has what. I buy the best I can afford of those things I want....
Clothing, I'm very conservative in my dress/appearance. Classic tailoring never goes out of style and good quality trumps current trends any day...

Not keeping up with them... but I bet they are trying to keep up with me.. hahaha! so to do justice to your scale, I'd say 1... that's just cuz you didn't give the option for 0.
Really, I am perfectly fine with my status quo. I don't want anybody else's life.
