Sure can and I see it even comes with the SATA power supply. Buy that and you'll be all set. However you should also consider some kind of enclosure for your hard drive as it's not exactly a good thing to just have a bare drive sitting out there exposed nd everything.

Okay, it looks like I misread your question, so forget everything I just said. I thought you had a SATA hard drive. No, you can't use that with an IDE hard drive. You'd need an adapter with an IDE connection like this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16812156101 buy that one instead.

Why can't you put your old hard drive inside your computer? Are you out of space inside your computer? In any case, look at the reviews on neweg for the reviews. They all pretty much say that connecting a hard drive with it works.

no it wouldnt work. sata is a new technology that doesnt use the giant ribbon cables. they are thin and have different connectors and different harddrives are now available. i didnt know theres anything that converts hd's to usb anyway, so i dont think you can, but there are external hd's you can buy.

hope that helps.

ULTRA ATA/100 is just another form of IDE, just slight variances, same connectors though
