ummmmm ok i come from a school that has really Ugly uniforms and it's all plain & boring! my mom insisted that i stay so i've no choice.. i treasure my home. i'm thinking of cutting my skirt with a pair of scissors to a mini but i dont wanna damage it like.. if i keep cutting and cutting it'll be gone in no time lol. how do i do it?? does using a ruler help..? its my first time doing this

I used to go to a school like that
What I did, was roll my skirt at the waist so it would become shorter =] Most girls at those kind of schools do that from what I've seen........then I bought really big safety pins because the skirt had pleats so I put the safety pins at the top of where the big pleats were.....and I bought some cute maryjane shoes with the buckles and stuff that I liked, wore tights with fishnets over em or got plaid grey tights, and wore the polo shirt for the uniform top. I got a really cool bag too so it would make the uniform less noticeable and bllaah haha.....
Hope this helps =) Just remember that some schools are strict with uniforms and don't like alterations, others don't care.

Is the school going to allow a mini?
Think about what your mom will say. If you cut and ruin the skirt, then won't your mom have to shell out money to buy you another one?
Maybe the best thing to do is leave it alone, but wear what you like the times you're not in school.
A good compromise??

If that's you in the picture, then you don't need to stand out anymore! You look AWESOME! If you love punk, then try putting clothes pins or safety pins or whatever under or even over your skirt to make them shorter, and to add a cool edge! I'm just suggesting this though, because I don't wear uniforms. I feel for you : ) l8er!

Do not cut. Tape it using double sided tape ... that way, you can always change the length according to your mood .... DO NOT cut it ! Down the road, you will find that your mom is right --- they always are some how !!!

i would tape the underside short and if they complain so much you can take the tape off and let it down easy id tape it till its ok and make everyone happy its going to be ok youll get through school verry fast and grow up verry fast to so relax and enjoy being young ok ,beleive me iam 42 and wish i could go back to those days

maybe you should stick some cool buttons on it and wear a belt even if there isn't any belt loops on your skirt
and make sure that the belt is hanging down a little bit or else it will look really dumb

You could take it to a seamstress or something. . .But I don't think the school would allow that.
