I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. The nausea and vomiting has just gotten worse. My dr gave me some pills that should help but they dont seem to do much. Any other suggestions? THANKS!

Zofran is what I am taking. It is not helping at all. My morning sickness also lasts throughout the day.

don't let your stomach get empty. Always eat something small. Keep saltines next to your bed, and eat a couple before you even get up.
Carry fruit snacks or crackers w/you when you're out, too.
Other than that, for some reason Fresca really helped with nausea for me.

Avoid greasy and fatty goods as they can make your morning sickness worse. I had morning sickness until my 7th month! It was awful I would get up several times in the middle of the night and early morning to vomit. I was not given anything to treat it so I had to try things out on my own. The first thing I would say is get some 7 up! It helped me a lot. I would drink it every morning as soon as I got up and instead of continuing to vomit all morning as I did throughout the night I would burp foamy bubbles, its not pleasant but its better than throwing up. I also would eat popscicles in the morning to help get something in my stomach, it seemed like I was most ill when I was very very hungry. I would also drink Carnation instant breakfast to get something that was somewhat filling into my stomach before actually eating solid foods, all of these things helped me a lot. I know what you are going through and I am so sorry to hear that you are miserable, best of luck to you and I hope my advice helps.

ZOFRAN. lol. I had morning sickeness so bad. It was mostly just nausia that got me down. Alot of people eat crackers, but that dont always help for everyone. Also, Premesis (sp?) also helped me.

Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

morning sickness, as it's called, has to do with your pregnancy hormones. it varies from person to person, some women don't have it and others have it so violently that they have to be hospitalized. some doctors consider it a good sign because it means the fetus is developing properly. here is an article on it and some tips on morning sickness:

Try making a ginger cake. Ginger has actually been proven to ease nausea and it also tastes really good with a cup of tea. My favourite recipe is

TAKE NO DRUGS. I don't care what they say is safe. Too often, years later, they find some latent, unknown side affect.

have you tried crackers and or flat ginger ale?

Remind yourself that you can get through this, and focus on the long-term.

Good luck!!
