No theory really. For myself, I just haven't thought of anything to ask. If I need an answer to something, I usually do my own research online. No doubt one day I will need a little help, but so far so good.

I dont know, i agree that maybe they dont want to lose points, and possibly they just do it for therapuetic help for others. Maybe they just enjoy it and do it in their downtime.
For example, i cruise this site at work, and if i see anything that i think i have experience with i will write an answer.
I first got started with Yahoo Answers though, because i needed help, and got a lot of good feedback. So i guess its give and take, its crazy that some people only give answers and dont ask. Maybe they dont need any help with anything! Or maybe the things they need answered arent necessarily questions easily answered over the internet. Perhaps YA is a hobby for practicing psychology, lol.

Their trying to gain the most points.......Supposedly, theirs prizes involved, when you get lots of points......And deductions, when you ask questions........ So, those who have alot of points, dont want to lose them, to asking questions, I guess.......I'm at a level #3, but, I still ask questions, every now & then........I really dont care about the whole prize thing,or how many points I receive,I just like trying to help people, thats the part I like the most about this whole site...... Everyone, has their way of doing things......

its simple
they are afraid of loosing marks.
they always go for questions having a simple answer as "yes" or "no". coz it takes lesser time n more points.
they dont care about right or wrong answers and just attempt questions
does that make sense??
Please give me 10 points for that as I have given the longest answer.....
I think

Maybe these people have no problems at the moment or would rather not share their problems on here, or they simply like helping others (those that give sensible answers that is!).

I like to ask questions but I also like to read the answers to questions that others have had!
You get two for one. It reminds me of shopping and shopping comforts me.
