I'm going to be a freshman in high school, and was wondering if you could help me find what to wear.
I was thinking a pink polo from abercrombie, and then I needed help with my bottoms, shoes, hair and makeup.
My style is a preppy-girly mix.

i would wear the polo with a denim mini and embellished sandals, and wear your hair down with just lip gloss and maybe mascare (rimmel lycra lash extender is the best) and a cool bracelet.

Cute top that is not revealing, maybe something like a polo or blouse, cute and mature... its high school dont you know :) Jeans for sure or white capris that dont suck to close to your body. If jeans wear white shoes not tennis shoes though, and if capris wear heels but not dress heals, casual. Conservative make-up, and hair down! Remember overall its not what you wear that makes you who you are. Shoot for confidence but not pride! Good luck, let the personality be brighter than the clothes!

As a teacher I am glad to hear a student excited about school, even if it is about clothing.

Just do not wear short skirts because they are out of style and school-inappropriate. I would choose something from GUESS. They have a bunch of cute tops that you can wear with jeans.

Or the mini skirt with the leggings underneath.

yeah i was skeptical last year about what to wear. i remember that the first week i was wearing all my "best" clothes, then during the year i stopped wearing those clothes and i realized that those clothes weren't "me" and if you wear clothing that isn't "you" and that doesn't seem to "fit" you, people WILL see RIGHT THROUGH IT!! (not literally, but they can tell you're a poser)
for your outfit, i would go with whatever jeans you have, to give it a laid back look. then for hair, don't go ALL out with the hairsprayed curls. trust me.....go with what YOU always do to your hair, not crappy style though. just go with what you do. please don't put on make-up!!!! if i saw you walkin around, i would think you're one of those fake girls....especially for a freshmen. be different than those other girls and don't put on pink eyeshadow to go with your top. it would look good on others, but not on young people like you freshmen. good luck.

the thing is, you should not wear all new clothing. you should instead have a few new pieces here and there in your outfit. such as a new shirt or new sandals or new earrings, etc., etc. pair those with your favorite pair of jeans or another article of clothing that you can feel comfortable in.
(think of it as your security blanket, especially if ur going into highschool!)
GOOD LUCK!!!!
HAVE FUN IN HIGH SCHOOL!!
