Men and Women take advantage of each other one way or another, but for a foreigner man to take a wife here has to anticipate that the extended family becomes part of their marriage one way or another. I am 63 and have lived here in retirement for 18 months and my wife is 54 with 7 children and I have no regrets what ever as the family treats me with great respect. I will also say I was only a average worker and only have a small income but this alone has made a great difference to the family. Also I do find that the people here friendly and feel safe, But back to the question I do think many foreign men do take advantage of younger women from here unfortunately

I guess it can work both ways. I personally have a liking for Asian women and have had a couple of g/f in Thailand, both whom used me, but in different way. Then a very close filipina friend of mine suggested I might prefer someone from her country. I joined Filipino Friend Finder and was immediately swamped with contacts. Sadly, many that I chatted with almost immediately asked for money, while others soon stopped chatting when they realised that I was just an ordinary working man and not wildly rich. That left me with a few mildly interested, not particularly attractive women to chat with.

Fortunately, I have recently renewed contact with another woman in Thailand, and we do have a plan that suits us both, in which neither is taken advantage of.

Of course there are those who take advantage of others in every country and in every walk of life, but that doesn't mean that all foreigners are like that. To be absolutely honest, my lady friend in Thailand is not the most beautiful woman in the world in the conventional sense, but is a most wonderful person inside, which is far more important. So I won't be coming back with a trophy bride nor will she have a wealthy man to keep her in the style to which she'd like to become accustomed. What we will both have is a best friend and partner to share equally, the rest of our days with.

I guess it's a 2 way thing.. there are foreign men who does take advantages of these Filipino domestic helpers.. But there are also cases whereby the Filipino domestic helpers are feeling lonely, away from home, away from their boyfriends/husbands.. and they yearns for sex, they will go to bed with any man who fancy them.. this also applies in exchange for extra money, so that they can send more money home..

Filipino, Thai etc. The wealthy guys go over and promise a young bit of stuff a good life over here, marry them and bring them back. Like a trophy bride.

Although it works both ways, the guys get a bit of arm candy and the girls get to live a wealthy life! I'm not sure who is taking advantage of who...

When we come to the Philippines to find a wife it is because we are tired of American women taking advantage of us. We just want a sweet girl that will be our friend and our partner forever. I found mine. I love her with all my heart.

Mostly no. Bad reports usually gets worse when we hear or read about them. But yes there are cases of these marital abuse. Not only with Filipino women, but women in general who are treated by (chauvinistic) males as a second class citizen. Its the bad news we always hear... but there are also fairy tale stories out there worth mentioning or learning about...

It is sad when you see these old men going abroad to the Philippines and Thailand and returning with young girls. But I think the girls know the score.
