postgraduate advertising OR communications and media studies....................im trying to become an art advertising director, dont know where to start, just finished my degree in fine art and did mostly video art, do you know where i sahould go and what advice have you got????

If there are advertising or graphic design firms in your city/town, make an appointment with one of the art directors to get the information you're looking for. People are usually very willing to help a beginner in this field. Be prepared to show your portfolio, even if in your opinion it's not the best. Also be prepared for some constructive criticism. As an art director for advertising one of the greatest values you could bring to an organization would be the ability to fine-tune the artwork from fellow designers to be on-strategy and in-line with the goals of your agency's clients.
I graduated with a BFA and a MBA. I would recommend you consider a business degree. You have your creative background, now I would learn about marketing strategy so you can apply your visual language skills and with credibility construct strategic marketing communications.
