It was considered taboo to even speak of Castro's mortality before he fainted in a speech in 2001. Some people have grown up with the idea that Castro is, and will always be the ultimate power in their world. Now they are understanding that things may change, that Communism may not last forever. It is a break in the chain of command they are so used to. I know this is difficult for us to understand who are under democracy. But this is all the people have known till now, so they are celebrating the hope of change.

They are not celebrating the temporary transfer of power, but the likelihood that Fidel is in his last death throes.
Will Raúl be better? I don't think so. He is a colorless person, without any charisma and is was charisma that kept Fidel in the driver's seat for so long. Raúl will have a hard time to stay in power.
That is what people are celebrating: the end of the Fidel era and the beginning of a new era full of hope and optimism. Hope and optimism that Raúl won't last and that Cuba will be free once more.

ANY lapse from Castro is good!!! Hopefully it will be permanent. I don't know too much about his brother, but God willing, he will be better. Only time will tell.

good question. castro has a faithful follower in his brother. it wouldn't be a surprise if there won't be any changes at all.
