Yo ndemo!

Mines gotta be Christmas, because I can spend lots of money on it. Like on presents and eating out and so on. And I don't have to worry about anything, because I'll get paid a couple of days later.

And recently it's even better, cause I get to go to SA right after Christmas. Here in Korea, we work until the very day before Christmas. That means you don't spend a lot of money being busy all the time. Right after you Christmas we have a week of winter camp and then we get our bonus, pay and some extra money for doing the camp. That means going to SA with lots of dough and having a good time with friends on vacation.

So Christmas has got to be the bomb for me. I don't spend a lot of money on it, but I have lots of money when it's done and I get to see the folks in SA.

Cheers buddy and thanks for posting something positive.

Hola Ndemo!

My favourite public holiday is New Years Day!!! Its a time to celebrate a brand new year with your friends, your family and your best bottle of alcohol in your hand! I love new years day because it is the start of a brand new year and you are happy that you have made it!

I hope you mean in South Africa.
I'm going to say Youth Day. When I was little, we always used to complain that moms had Mother's Day, dads had Father's Day and there was nothing for the children. So Youth Day fits the bill for me. Now I know why it's there and what happened that we commemorate June 16th, I like it even more. There's something about kids rising up against the education system that I like, and I think we need to remember those that died.
And, I like to go out and get drunk the night before and nurse my hangover while watching the Comrades Marathon from the safety of my couch!

Same as what Kim says. New years day is when you sit down and relax (even though we never do), think of all the ups and downs of the past year, congratulate yourself for all your achievements, thank God for keeping you alive throughout the year, make new years resolutions, and setting new targets towards improving your life. If your previous year has been a hectic one and full of bad events, then new years day is the best day to wipe away all those bad memories with a bottle of Jack Daniels, or KWV, or Fish Eagle, or whatever suits you.
