According to Adherents.com, there were 110,000,000 Catholics in Africa in 2000.
Catholic membership has tripled in the past 30 years, now numbering more than 110 million, meaning about one in 10 Catholics is African.

take a country like Nigeria, over 56 percent are practising roman Catholics and its the same for many other countries like Kenya, Ghana, Cameroun and Tanzania just to name a few.
it has even been said by the vatican that Africa holds the future of Catholicisim .
