im trying to connect with God but I just don't know what im listening for

just keep listening and open your mind and soul!!! for instance i used to listen to bad radio stations until i went to a jeremy camp concert and it opened my eyes and i knew that God was speaking to me then!!! its not going to be something extravagant you just need to listen for the little things you know? God is always there you just need to let him in and beleive me your not the only one i cant seem to find him myself but just stay strong in your faith and that will guide you! remember keep your body,soul,mind and heart available and let God in!!! i hope this helped and i dont know much but this is one thing im starting to understand!!! you should email me at eruthharmon@yahoo.com and we can talk some more!!!

Read the Psalms. The 23rd is about as good as it ever gets in human language. Go easy on the religion, heavy on the spiritual. I have been a believer all of my life. My connection with God is deeper and more meaningful everyday. There is so much noise, so much religous babble, so much anti-religious babble ... it is hard to hear the voice of God through the cacophony. I truly believe that if you are open to seeking God, he will find you where you are right now. God wants your heart and if it is open to him, he will fill it.
I can point you to a bunch of passages in the Bible and can tell you how I have come to my faith. Those resources are there if you want them but you will need to figure out this God thing on your own. Someone else telling you isn't going to get you there. It is a journey you must travel with your own two feet. The angels will help guide you on the path and God will carry you in his arms if you are weak and become faint along the way.

God is a belief system that one must have in order to pass through bad times and sometimes good times. A lot of people think preying is a way to connect to God but personaly I dont think that's the case. You can connect to God by believing in God and understand that he is the creater of your life. I dont believe that you can only connect to God if you're in a church or prey. You can connect to him anywhere you are. The way that you know God is doing his work is when something happened just because. With no explaination, that is how you know God is at work.

Just keep an open mind. God doesn't speak to people directly, and signs are rarely obvious at the time. You need to listen to others.
Be patient and pay attention. When you finally get a message, it will seem to be so obvious after-the-fact.

I find that when I start focusing on others is when I feel God's directing me. I feel that is a communication with and from God. Like when you pray for forgivness for the fowl responses you have gotten from some on your ? Pray that they will find something constuctive to do with their mind.

God usually sounds like your conscience talking to you. If a thought comes out of nowhere from meditation, that's God.

You will just know If you have a personal relationship with the Lord you will just know read your Bible daily and set time aside to just speak to him he is there he is real ! and to all you unbelievers God does not speak audibly it is through conviction and sorta like in our concience we can hear him prompting us to do what is right or not to do somthing. a still small inner voice that will not contrdict or twist anything from the Bible and will not bring confusion to you
