Basically under active will produce symptoms of weight increase, fatigue, depression, loss of appetite and is controlled by medication call Thyroxine.
over active symptoms are loss of weight, rushing around, bulging eyes, heart palpatations, and you can be tired this is controlled by carbimazole which is kind of like a beta blocker.
Both thryoid conditions can make you tired and you can also suffer with a goitre (swolen Neck)
My advice get to a doctor- get a blood test for THS (thyroid stimulating hormone) T3 and T4- this will show your results and the doctor will treat you according to your results.
Make sure you go every month for a blood test to start with and then less and less when it is under control.
Hope this helps

If you have an under active thyroid you will gain weight, This means you just dont have the energy to do very much. Go and see you doctor and explain it to him/her, you can be given medication to help you. Dont bother with any slimming pills, your just wasting your time, the weight might come of if you take them, but it wont stay off, speak to your GP. Hope this helps you.

Main symptoms are tiredness and weight gain. There is a simple blood-test to determine whether or not this is the problem. Medication is a tablet, usually taken in the morning, called thyroxine. There are no usual side-effects and no long-term problems.
Weight should drop off naturally quite quickly once the correct dose is being taken

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/CGgWN
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

HAVE YOU HAD A COMPLETE (THYROID BLOOD TEST ) THAT YOUR PHYSICIAN DETERMINED THAT IT IS UNDERACTIVE? IF SO JUST LIKE MY SELF I HAVE TO TAKE A MEDICATION CALL SYNTHROID . WITH UNDERACTIVE THYROID YOU FEEL SLUGGISH AND YOUR METABOLISM SLOWS DOWN AND YOU CAN BECOME ABSENT MINDED AND EVEN A LITTLE FORGETFUL. I THEN SEE MY PHYSICAN FOR A FOLLOW UP EXAM AND I TELL HIM HOW I FEEL AND HAVE MY BLOOD TEST TAKEN. HE THEN ADJUST MY MEDS AND ALWAYS TELLS ME TO WATCH OUT WHAT I EAT AND GET PLENTY OF EXERCISE. YOU CAN ALSO GO TO" WWW.WEBMD.COM" FOR MORE INFO. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DOCUMENT ALL YOUR SYMPTOMS YOU ARE EXPERIENCING AND SPEAK WITH YOUR PHYSICIAN WHO WILL EXAMEN YOUR THROAT AREA AND NECK AREA FOR ANY LUMPS AND MAY ASK YOU IF YOU HAVE A HARD TIME SWALLOWING. YOUR PHYSICIAN MAY REFER YOU TO AN ENDOCRONOLOGIST DEPENDING ON THE RESULTS OF BLOOD TEST AND CONSULTATION. I AM CONTINUING MY LIFE EVEN IF I HAVE HYPOTHYROIDISM AND YOU CAN TOO!
